About The Game

Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly is a survival horror video game developed and published by Tecmo for the PlayStation 2. The game follows Mio and Mayu Amakura, twin sisters who wander into a mysterious village while searching for their lost brother. As they explore the village, they discover that it is haunted by ghosts and other supernatural entities. The player must use the Camera Obscura, a special camera that can capture and defeat the ghosts, to survive the nightmarish events that unfold. Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly is set in an abandoned village in Japan known as All God’s Village. It is said that anyone who enters the village will never be able to leave. As Mio and Mayu explore the village, they uncover its dark secrets and discover that it was once home to a ritual known as “The Crimson Sacrifice”. This ritual was performed in order to appease an evil spirit known as “The Crimson God”. As they investigate further, they come across various ghosts and other supernatural entities that haunt the village. The player must use the Camera Obscura to defeat these ghosts and progress through the game. The Camera Obscura has two modes: Normal Mode which allows players to take pictures of ghosts in order to weaken them, and Spirit Mode which allows players to see invisible spirits and objects. Players must also collect items such as film reels which can be used to upgrade their camera’s abilities or unlock new areas of the game.
