About The Game

Parasite Eve II is an action role-playing game developed and published by Square (now Square Enix) for the PlayStation in 1999. The game is a sequel to the original Parasite Eve, and follows Aya Brea, a rookie police officer who discovers that she has the ability to manipulate mitochondria. With this power, Aya must battle against a new breed of creatures called Neo Mitochondrial Creatures (NMCs) that have been created by the mysterious Mitochondrion. The game is set in a post-apocalyptic future where mankind has been almost wiped out by a mysterious virus known as the “Neo-Mitochondrial Creature” virus. The player takes control of Aya Brea, an NYPD rookie cop who discovers that she has special powers related to mitochondria which allow her to manipulate energy and fight against the NMCs. As Aya progresses through the game, she learns more about her powers and how they can be used to defeat her enemies. Along the way, she meets up with allies such as Dr. Klamp, Dr. Hans Klamp’s son; Maeda, a scientist working on a cure for the NMC virus; and Kyle Madigan, an ex-soldier who helps Aya in her mission. Aya must explore various locations such as sewers, abandoned buildings and laboratories in order to find clues about the NMCs and their origins. Along the way she will encounter various enemies such as mutated animals, robots and other NMCs which must be defeated in order to progress further.
